Kal Sabir will soon be starting rehearsals for Glass Roots, a play by Alexander Matthews. It will run from February 28th until March 24th at the Tristan Bates Theatre in London.
Glass Roots explores racism during the 1970s. It is characterised by a specific type of bullying which goes unpunished as it dances near the boundary of what is defined as criminal.
Set in Brixton, Sadjit (Kal Sabir) and his wife Thila (Natalie Perara) run a small Indian restaurant, which with all it’s potential isn’t where it should be. The arrival of racist thugs forces them to analyse and reassess the truthfulness of their relationship.
